About Draftbit

At Draftbit, we believe that software should be a democratizing agent that makes it possible for anyone to turn their app ideas into reality.

Draftbit is a collaborative product development tool, focused on mobile apps. Our platform allows technical and non-technical teams to work together to build native mobile apps. Apps built in Draftbit produce high quality React Native code that can be exported at any time so you can build inside and outside our platform.

Backed by world-class investors (including Y Combinator), we have aggressive growth goals and are looking for a teammates to help us achieve our vision.

About the Position

Draftbit is robust platform for "power users." Building complex apps on Draftbit doesn't require code, but it does require some knowledge of:

  • How APIs & databases work
  • Flexbox layout
  • Core concepts of how mobile apps are built (React Native in particular)

Because of this, the learning curve can be steep—educational content can be the guide.

You will be responsible for creating written tutorials that address the central questions: "What is possible with Draftbit, and how do I do it?" Your words will inspire and excite, but more importantly they will educate.

Our Growth & Customer Success team will help you identify the most important needs and wants of Draftbit users that a tutorial could address, and you will deliver your final product to this team. You will operate autonomously.

We use Notion, Slack, and Linear to manage our content creation processes currently. Your outputs will be posted to our community.draftbit.com. It's not required that you share the work you do for Draftbit with your own audience, but you should have an opinion about how your outputs can garner visibility with the right audiences.

This is a freelance, part-time, output-focused role. We are open to both hourly or pay-per-deliverable arrangements.

Here is an example of the type of tutorials you will create. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit portfolio examples.

About You

If you are an engineer who loves teaching others how to build software, this could be the role for you.

If you're someone with significant experience writing educational content for technical products & audiences, this role could be for you.

Experience building React Native apps, or educating others on how they are built, required.

Additionally, your colleagues would describe you as:

  • An educator — You use your unique voice to instruct, not dictate. You show, not tell.
  • A storyteller — You understand your audience and they understand you. Your output is engaging from beginning to end. You use all the tools available in your medium of choice.
  • A builder — You plan and then you execute. You're good at "managing up" on your projects.
  • Organized — You've created structure and process where there previously was none.
